Company to invest more than EUR 400,000 in yellowtail farm

The Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz (APBC) has granted a concession for a port public domain construction on land of a yellowtail fattening plant. The APBC board of directors approved the granting of an administrative concession to the company Blennius, SCA for the occupation of lands destined to the construction of a plant for yellowtail fattening in the area of public port domain of El Puerto de Santa María. The surface, of 3,500 square metres, is located in the cluster of aquaculture exploitation industries of the Port dock, on the left bank of the Guadalete River, where other companies in the sector are already active, such as Marine Phytoplankton, Epic Aqua, Futuna Blue Spain and the Aquaculture Technology Centre of Andalusia (CTAQUA) The planned investment exceeds EUR 404,000 and the term of the concession has been established in 20 years. The works will last for a year and are scheduled to start within three months. The project, which aims to obtain a production between 125 and 150 tonnes a year of yellowtail, will have a cutting-edge technological development that allows the jump to an industrial production of this species.
